Helpful Hints:

Ask your local film developing center to save the film canisters for you. Use the black film canisters for the NAD "Astronomer" award. Make small copies of different constellations that will fit over the end of the canister. The kids can then tape them on to the bottom of the black film canister and then the kids can use thumb tacks to poke holes through the bottom in the shape of the constellation. When the kids hold the canisters up to the light and look with one eye through the open end, they will see the shape of the constellation they punched through the bottom.
